旧金山大学（University of San Francisco, 简称USF）成立于1855年，是一所位于美国加利福尼亚州旧金山市的私立天主教大学。它既是旧金山第一所大学，也是加利福尼亚州第二古老大学和第十古老的天主教大学，也是美国第八大天主教大学。2005年是其建校150周年庆。
旧金山大学前身为“圣依纳爵书院”的天主教身份象征植根于耶稣会创始人圣依纳爵•罗耀拉，其包容性的建校理念吸引来自不同的宗教传统和有着不同理念的学生和教师。然而，天主教在伸张正义方面的行动在社区服务，思考静修，校园内外的宗教界限的课程和工作中是显而易见的。
校训：For the City and University，中译为：一切为了城市和大学。该校训反映了旧金山大学与旧金山县市的历史联系。
校园环境
旧金山大学的主校区占地20公顷，坐落于金门大桥和金门公园之间。旧金山大学有一个很合适的绰号叫“山顶（The Hilltop）”，因为校园位于旧金山的主要山丘之一的顶峰。
旧金山大学共有4个校区，分别位于萨克拉门托、普莱森顿、圣罗莎和圣何塞。这些分校区主要是为了帮助已参加工作的成年人拿到本科学位。
校区内的主要建筑有：
科威尔楼（Cowell Hall (CO)）—以旧金山慈善家萨缪尔·科威尔的名字命名。这里主要是护理学院和其他系的教室和办公室，还有学习和写作中心。
哈尼科学中心（Harney Science Center (HR)）—主要是艺术与科学学院的教室和办公室。
卡尔曼罗维茨楼（Kalmanovitz Hall (KA)）—主要是教室、办公室、会议室和写作、多媒体、语言和心理实验室。
肯德里克楼（Kendrick Hall (KN)）—法学院和法学院图书馆（Dorainne Zief Law Library）的所在地。
洛内山（Lone Mountain (LM)）—前身为旧金山女子学院或洛内学院。这里有教室、办公室、学习中心以及180名学生，学校校长和副校长的办公室也在这里。
迈凯伦会议中心（McLaren Conference Center (MC)）—费伦楼西侧的一部分，主要是管理学院的所在地，前身为商科和专业学习学院。
教育学院（School of Education (ED)）—教室和教育学院的行政办公室。在被旧金山大学收购之前是一所天主教高中。
